As ceramic tile production surpasses 10 billion m² globally each year, its popularity in various applications is evident. The industry is moving towards larger tile sizes, which presents unique challenges in maintaining flat surfaces during production.

In this context, alumina-containing rollers have become a key component. Their mechanical strength and creep resistance are particularly valuable under the high temperatures and loads involved in firing large tiles. The longevity of alumina rollers further highlights their efficiency, positioning them as the material of choice for durable, high-performance rollers.

At Almatis, we focus on providing specific tabular and calcined alumina products for the production of ceramic rollers. Our products are characterized by their advantageous particle size distributions, offering a more efficient alternative to white fused materials due to improved particle packing. By incorporating ground calcined products, we enhance the overall alumina content and, consequently, the strength properties of the rollers.
